The Grand Strand refers to a stretch of beach that is a little over sixty miles long, and is home to some of the best golfing and resorts on the entire eastern seaboard. In fact, this stretch of land is home to more than one hundred golf courses! It’s a golf lover’s dream. The problem, when interested in playing excellent golf while on a NC beach vacation isn’t finding a great game of golf. It’s deciding which amazing course you want to play first. Here are a few you might want to keep in mind.

Vacationing on Topsail island and want to play some world class golf? No problem…. Try these 3 challenging and well conditioned layouts all within minutes of the beaches:

If you’re vacationing in Sunset Beach, Holden Beach or Ocean Isle, the following courses are some we suggest you try as they are all sure to please.

The Pearl
Links golf lovers will have plenty to love when playing The Pearl. There are two 18-hole golf courses: The Pearl-East and The Pearl-West. Each one is a championship quality course, designed by Dan Maples, for the purpose of testing the mettle of every golfer that plays them—no matter how much experience and/or talent you have on the links. There’s also a full service pro shop and practice facilities available.

Sea Trail Golf Courses
There are three golf courses in the Sea Trail family of golf courses. Each one brings a different challenge, pace, and atmosphere to the game. Each course carries the name of the world-renowned designer that was the driving force behind it. Rees Jones Golf Course, Willard Byrd Golf Course, and Dan Maples Golf Course each offer unique experiences that are well worth playing.

The Big Cats Golf Courses
If you’re looking for something a little less civilized—like the primal game of golf you know is out there somewhere, then you need to look no further than one of the amazing Big Cats Golf Courses. The courses include Panther’s Run Golf Links, Jaguar’s Lair Golf Club, Lion’s Paw Golf Links, Tiger’s Eye Golf Links, and Leopard’s Chase Golf Links. These represent some of the finest golf the East Coast has to offer and some of the best you’re going to find in and around The Grand Strand.

Fishing on Your NC Beach Vacation
So you’re through with golf now and want to catch a little dinner… sounds good and why not? Many people dream of catching the big fish while on vacation. If you play your cards right, you can do exactly that on your NC beach vacation. Whether you decide to participate in fishing the sound, from a rental boat or from the pier, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to create a few tall fish tales of our own while on vacation in NC. You might also choose to turn your attention to the ocean and the fine fishing it represents from one of the many fishing piers throughout the region or deep-sea charter boats.  There are several piers throughout the region to choose from. Many of them are open year round as well as around the clock if charter boats aren’t in the budget or you’d rather stick a little bit closer to the shore.
