We rented this particular condo not for the frills but mearly because of location to the ocean, beach and other amenities that the St Regis facility offered. The condo itself was just ok in furnishings. The kitchen I found dirty dishes in the cupboards and remnants of coffee spilled on the counter top and fronts of cabinets. Since they don't manage the bedding, it made me question how clean the bedspreads were and how often they get washed. I immediately started to clean and I also washed bead spreads because I was shocked by the minimal effort and standards of cleaning. I would recommend you take cleaning products and be proactive. The places is a bit dated and could use updates but overall not a deal breaker. We was having issues with the refrigerator working properly and Treasure Reality did send a maintenance person who had it up and running properly in no time. We would consider renting again but might try a higher level condo.- Tammy M from Guys Mills, Posted: 05/23/2021
Staying in this condo was very nice for our party of 8. It is roomy and has a living room balcony that looks onto the ocean. The negative for us was that the A/C in the bunk bedroom didn't work well. We had to buy a standup fan. The kitchen was well appointed. The amenities were available except for the indoor pool. Most guests wore masks to walk through the lobby & elevator due to Covid19. Parking is ample and the resort is in a nice, quiet area of the island.- K T , Posted: 05/06/2021Note: This review was imported when our site was created and is older than 5/6/2021. Quiet, comfortable base for a beach vacation - with some caveats
My family & I recently stayed at the St. Regis in Unit 2018 for a week's vacation at the beach. The unit is as depicted in the photos here and was comfortable for my wife and I ad our two teenage children. The good points - directly overlooks the beach and just high enough to see the beach; the unit has a washer and dryer; the unit has a Blue Ray disc player; convenient to the Shrimp House restaurant on the 7th floor; well equipped with kitchen utensils. The down sides - the beds were the noisiest I have ever slept on. Just turning over in the bed could wake the person next to you. The beds were also quite soft. The unit is advertised as having wireless internet and indeed it does exist, however the connection is so poor - I found myself having to go out to the parking lot to download something via 4G as it was so much better than the wireless internet in the unit. Also, likely due to the very sturdy concrete structure that is the building, cellular signals are very week in the unit. I know it is great to get away and be disconnected, but sometimes you really do need to communicate with the outside world and we would have to go outside if we really needed that connection. The unit was generally clean, yet I would rate the cleaning as only mediocre. The tub in the ensuite bedroom really needed to cleaned thoroughly. Also upon check in there were still some long hairs in the bathroom that should have been taken care of by the cleaning team prior to our arrival. It was evident that the cleaning team did not check the working status of lights as there were a number of light fixtures in the unit were burned out. We probably should have called the management company to get them fixed, but never got around to it since we were out on the beach.
The furniture and appliances in the unit are nice and serviceable, but the couch is showing its age and is a bit sunk in. The electric stove seems to have some coils not installed properly and the oven looked like it was manufactured in the 1970's but did work the one time we cooked pizzas.
Not sure if it is a downside for many, but the fact that this development is so far up the island means that the place is very, very quiet. While we appreciated that fact on our morning runs on the main road, it is not really close to shops or many restaurants (save for the restaurant in the building). If we needed something from a store or to go out to the many restaurants in the area, one needs to drive probably 15 minutes to get back to the mainland. Again, not sure it is a negative, but just something we did not know before our arrival and it would have been good to have that awareness. The Shrimp House restaurant is not fancy, but the food was good and it had lovely views. The prices were very competitive so that was an added bonus. It is possible to do take out from the bar and bring it down to your unit and we did that one night for dinner.
The beach in front of the development was very nice. We brought beach chairs and umbrellas with us but you could work with a private company to rent them for the day or the week. There were also surfing lessons offered on the beach in front of the development. Only swam once in the outdoor pool and it was nice, but a bit chilly. There is an indoor pool, but we never used it. There re also a couple of corn hole games on the property.
So to sum up, a nice resort, much cheaper than those found further north in the Outer Banks. Good for a family to relax and chill on the beach & if having ready access to Starbucks or many restaurants is not important to you, then we would recommend it. However, I would only offer a mixed recommendation. With a few minor corrections and or updates, I would not hesitate to recommend the place.- Kingstownemurphy , Posted: 05/06/2021Note: This review was imported when our site was created and is older than 5/6/2021. Relaxing stay focused on the beach.
As true beach lovers, we really did enjoy the proximity to the beach itself and we adore North Topsail. The dwelling itself was adequate, considering our desire simply for a place to hang our hat at the beach. It was fully functional, but certainly no frills. The kitchen has clearly not been updated since the time of construction. The living area is actually quite nice as is the balcony overlook to the waves. The rest of the unit is tiny and has not been updated in quite some time. Cleanliness was marginal and we had some bug visits, but not to the point where we felt we needed to address them during the visit.- A Flipkey Verified Reviewer , Posted: 05/06/2021Note: This review was imported when our site was created and is older than 5/6/2021. beautiful place & convenient to beach & pool
We were very pleased with the condo we stayed in. We enjoyed the resort, pool & beach. Our condo was very large and we were very comfortable with our 4 children there.- Themacfamily , Posted: 05/06/2021
Great time spent with family.
My family and I spent a great week at the beach. My kids enjoyed both the beac, which was very easily accessible, and the indoor and outdoor pools. The condo was very nice and perfect size for my family. It was located far enough away from the hustle of tourist attractions but close enough that they were only a short drive away. Can't wait to go back again soon.- April , Posted: 05/06/2021
