We enjoyed our week at Topsail Island June 5th-12th. My review will have pros and cons, both with the house and Treasure Realty. Check in as at 4:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, however, if you have any issues, hurry and discover them quickly. The office closes at 5:00 pm for the weekend. We had a couple issues come up and the only contact we had was via text message, even though we called the after hours number given to us upon check in. On Sunday morning the air conditioning unit for the top main suite floor went out. It was due to a bad capacitor. We contacted the after hours number and they refused to send anyone out to look at the unit. It was not until Monday early evening someone finally came to check the unit. I had to text them several times and stay on them about getting someone out to the house. So for a whole day and evening, my husband and I were not able to sleep on the top floor. It was too hot, and all the other rooms were taken. The couch is not a comfortable place to sleep. No discount or anything was offered to us for this huge inconvenience. On the main suite floor (the very top floor) the tv was also not working. We sent a message to the company about this as well, and nothing at all was done for this. Even after one of the maintenance men came to fix the light bulb that was out in the shower, and replace the battery for the smoke detector after it kept beeping all night Saturday night, (We had to take the battery out in order to get it to stop since no one would come until Monday.) We made him aware of the tv as well and we were told to contact the office. Which we had already done. No one had told us when we spoke to agents before our trip, nor does it say so on the website, but the house is right beside a bar. On Saturday night, we had to listen to the boom boom boom until about 2 in the morning. Thankful the bar is only open on the weekend. The house is absolutely gorgeous. It is very open, not cluttered with all the "beach" decorations. Plenty of storage for all our "stuff" The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking. A toaster, Keurig, and a coffee pot were available. Sadly, there is no grill available. The couch is a nice deep couch. However, there was not enough sitting available for 6 people. You have a couch, small sofa, and a comfy chair. I am guess it was comfy we refused to sit on it because they have throws over the furniture. THEY ARE DISGUISTING! The comfy chair is covered with a white throw and it is so nasty we would not dare sit on it. Try throwing it in the wash. Speaking of throwing it in the wash, when we first arrived, there was black dog hair every where. On the beds, on the dressers, on the floor. Every where. It was so bad in one room we had to strip the bed down completely. Each floor had it's own balcony which was a pleasant surprise. Lots of furniture on each balcony, but you could not use it. Due to the rain, the cushions were always wet. They also look nasty. It would be great to use at your own home, but not a rental. The main balcony has a screened in porch. However, one side the whole screen was missing. It may have been due to the storms. We did let Treasure Realty know about this on Monday, but again nothing happened. I loved the elevator! It was a huge help instead of carrying all our luggage up all those floors. Very easy to use. Outside there is also a shower if you want to shower off before going in, and a water house which was fantastic for spraying off all our beach chairs. The parking was great for 3 cars under the house, Anymore than 3 and they would not be covered. Which is not a deal breaker for us. The yard is a nice large fenced in yard. Enough room for a pool if you ask me. But it really is just a wasted space. Nothing great about it at all. I am sure dogs would enjoy it, if they need to go out. The walk to the beach is about 2 blocks. It is not really a bad walk, but don't forget anything! If the rain comes, you may get caught in it, and don't forget to use the bathroom before leaving the house. Golf carts are not allowed for anyone renting the property, so you have to walk. There is nowhere to park your car if you wanted to try to drive to the beach access. On our last day of vacation, we were told by Treasure Realty the homeowner wanted to have some roof work done due to the rain. For 3 hours we had to listen to banging on the roof. Why they couldn't just wait the next day was beyond me. It was not a good way to end our family vacation. Again, no discount was offered to us for this very huge inconvenience. Overall, it is a great house. We had a nice vacation with a few hiccups on the way. Treasure Realty needs to step up their game. We should have never ever ever have had to go without ac for any amount of time. It should have been handled immediately and the roof should have been repaired when the house was being cleaned the very next day. Would we rent this house again? Maybe. The walk to the beach was kind of a deal breaker for us. I am thinking we definitely would if they would put in a pool and add a grill.- Chrissy M from Gastonia, Posted: 06/13/2021
Q: Is the yard fully fenced in? How far is beach access? Thank you- Brandie L. Posted: 05/24/2021A:
This yard is completely fenced in. The beach access is across the street diagonally from the home. It is approximately a 5 minute walk.
Q: In the description it says 3 queen beds and 3 twin beds, but at the bottom it says 2 king beds, a queen, and 2 twins. Can you confirm the bed sizes for me so I know what size sheets to bring? Thanks!- Jennifer G. Posted: 05/28/2021A:
