Evidence of attention to detail is everywhere: the understated elegance of the pale yellow vinyl shake facade with hunter green shutters, the entry door set off by a Paladian window and sidelights, the lush landscaping of graceful palms, pittosporum, yew, Indian Hawthorne, and liriope.
And that’s before you exit your car—which, of course, you’ll park in the ground-level enclosed garage, big enough for one. The driveway itself is spacious enough for up to 8 cars. Shore Sensation offers its guests a shuffleboard court and bikes to use during your stay.
You and your guests will bask in comfort, luxuriating in one of five finely appointed bedrooms, each with a private bath, or marveling at the awesome Atlantic from two spacious decks, where roomy lounge chairs, rockers, a swing, and an octagonal picnic table invite relaxation.
The spacious main living, dining, and kitchen area and master suite are situated on the top floor; guests who occupy the lower level will find their own entertainment center and kitchen conveniences in a cozy den there. An interior elevator will easily shuttle you and your provisions between the residential levels and the ground-level garage.
Living/dining area (top level): This room features triple windows, a glass door, and two floor-length windows for perfect beach views. A gas fireplace is flanked by elegant pickle-finish bookcases and cabinets; tucked away here are a TV, DVD, CD player, and a generous selection of DVDs and books.
Beautiful multi-shade green fronds and profuse mauve to magenta blossoms are the tropical pattern of the sofa and loveseat, with matching mauve rockers nearby. An ingenious coffee table is the centerpiece; under its glass top nestle four cushioned stools for resting your feet or additional seating.
Everyone will be welcome at this dining table, with eight chairs already arranged and four extras nearby. The flecked black, white, and light mauve tabletop coordinates perfectly with the acres of kitchen counters.
Kitchen : This is the kitchen of which entertaining dreams are made. Bountiful palest mauve kitchen cabinets line three walls. There’s a stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with in-door ice and water, four-slice toaster, coffeemaker, butcher block with knives, tea kettle, built-in microwave, free standing ice machine, dishwasher, toaster oven, and even a wall-mounted Dust Buster. A full stock of both spices and cookbooks will have you offering gourmet delights; a trip to the nearby wine shop will provide just the right filler for the hand painted wine glasses.
Bedroom 1 (Master, top level) : “Spacious” understates the size of this oceanfront bedroom, where the centerpiece is a king-sized bed dressed in a red comforter over a red and white striped bed skirt. A red-matted seaside village print above and red button-upholstered bench at the foot coordinate perfectly. Twin night tables hold lamps, a CD/cassette player, a telephone, and an AM/FM clock radio.
Want a closer look at stars or ships? Enjoy the telescope by the glass door on to the deck, making yourself comfy in the red and white striped occasional chair. On movie night, you’ll find the TV/DVD/VCR inside the tall double-doored rattan entertainment center.
The adjoining ecru-walled bath features a six-foot wall mirror over the double-sink vanity; accent pieces include a red basket and twin prints of beach chairs in distressed frames. A second door leads to the toilet and glass-doored shower.
Lower level den: This charming yellow room occupies the center of this level. Two green, blue, and yellow plaid mama-san chairs complement the snuggle-soft blue denim triple sofa, which converts into a queen-sized bed. Corner shelves and counters hold a sink, built-in refrigerator, TV/DVD/VCR, and books.
Bedroom 2 (lower level): Brown rattan furnishings create a cozy atmosphere in this oceanfront bedroom, where a glass door flanked by a floor-length window leads to the deck. A blue, red, green, and gold lighthouse patchwork quilt over a white eyelet bed skirt dresses the queen-size bed. A TV perches on a shelf stocked with books. There’s a double dresser with mirror and twin night tables with lamps. In the adjoining bath, the lighthouse motif appears in the shower curtain, wall prints, and soap dish and dispenser on the wide dark mauve vanity.
Bedroom 3 (lower level): Blossoms galore are the decor in this cheery yellow oceanfront bedroom. The queen-sized bed is covered in a turquoise, red, blue, and yellow floral, and matching blossoms adorn the shades of lamps on twin night tables. There’s a white double dresser, TV on a corner chest, and a creative wall abstract to tie all the colors together. A glass door opens onto the deck. The adjoining bath features a tub/shower combo.
Bedroom 4 (lower level): Two twin beds feature muted teal shell print spreads and matching bed skirts, with a matching balloon valance over long double window. Carved scallop shells decorate the double dresser, night table, and chest, which holds a TV. In the adjoining bath are a wide vanity and mirror, tub/shower combo with aqua, mauve, green, and gold shell curtain, and a grey-green ceramic tile floor.
Bedroom 5 (lower level): Two sets of bunk beds are dressed in multi-colored shell and fish quilts. There is a three-drawer pine chest with mirror and a five-arm adjustable torchiere. Whimsical pink, blue, yellow, and green fish and starfish decorate the tub/shower curtain in the adjoining bath.
